As the sun sets, a hidden world emerges. Hunt lobsters with a torch, watch sleeping turtles, witness bioluminescent plankton, and meet the creatures that rule Malaysia's reefs after dark.
Special Requirements
Minimum Certification
PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent). Night diving experience is recommended but not required.
Torch Policy
Bring your own dive torch (400 lm min), or rent one from us for RM 15. A backup torch is required — no exceptions.
What's Included
All tanks, weights, and boat transfer. BCD & regulator rental available at RM 35. Marine park fee where applicable.

Buddy System Mandatory
Every diver pairs with a buddy and maintains visual contact throughout the dive. Buddies are assigned if you are diving solo.
Torch Signals Briefed
OK, attention, ascend, descend and emergency signals are practised before entry. A backup torch is carried by every diver.
Surface Marker Buoy (SMB)
Every diver deploys an SMB on ascent. The boat maintains a watch light and our DM carries a strobe beacon.
Max Depth & Time Limits
Night dives are limited to 18 m max and 50 minutes bottom time. We stay together as a group — no independent dives.
Tips for First-Time Night Divers

Arrive 30 minutes early
Get comfortable with your torch in the boat. Learn the signals and identify your buddy before entering the water.

Bring (or rent) a primary + backup torch
Your primary should produce at least 400 lumens. Rental torches are available for RM 15 per dive.

Move slowly — night marine life is shy
Sudden movements scatter creatures. Hover neutrally buoyant, breathe slowly, and let the animals approach you.

Do not shine your torch directly into eyes
Aim your beam at the substrate, not directly at animals. Sleeping turtles and sharks are best observed from a distance.

Look for eye-shine
Many crustaceans have reflective eyes. Scan the reef slowly with your torch and watch for tiny pinpoints of light — that is your lobster.

Turn off your torch briefly in open water
On calm nights, waving your hand through the water will trigger bioluminescent plankton — a magical sight you will never forget.
